Shepway (now Folkestone & Hythe) District Council have supported Academy FM with a number of grants since the station's launch in 2011.

The council kindly agreed to fund the construction of a ‘satellite’ studio for Academy FM, in the Glassworks buidling in central Folkestone. We had outgrown our space in the main Folkestone Academy building, and the Glassworks studio meant we could do a lot more interviews, and do live programming in the evenings and weekends. Many of the content that raises awareness of local events is recorded in the Glassworks studio.

The council has also supported us with a variety of grants over the years. We're grateful to the council's officers, and the individual Councillors who have awarded us grants from their individual community support funding budgets.
